Nixi for Children was created to humanize hospital processes through virtual reality preparation. With the help of the NixiKit, children can get to know an operating room from the inside and thus reduce the preoperative anxiety suffered by 60-80% of the children who undergo surgery in the USA each year, more than 4.000.000. Pre-operative anxiety translates into health effects in children such as: increased administration of opioids, longer recovery time, higher probability of suffering post-anesthesia delirium and behavioral regressions up to 6 months after the operation. The NixiKit has been validated in a clinical trial led by Dr. Teresa Franco at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital. Recently, the impact of Nixi for Children has also been extended to children with cancer undergoing radiotherapy treatment thanks to the I am Ready project with The Ricky Rubio Foundation. Since 2019 we have helped more than 3000 families around the world, we are implemented in 20 hospitals in Spain and we are preparing for international expansion.
